Ritual mainnet Goes Live With 50M RITUAL Airdrop

The Ritual mainnet went live on October 26 with 1.8 billion RITUAL unlocked, a fully unlocked 50 million token airdrop and insider tokens locked for a year.

Ritual mainnet Goes Live With 50M RITUAL Airdrop
tl;dr
  • The airdrop is 0.5% of initial supply and targeted eligible Infernet node operators, Frenrug users and long-term community members, per TokenPost.
  • RITUAL has no maximum supply: issuance starts near 5% a year for staking rewards, while base fees are burned EIP-1559 style.
  • Core contributor and investor tokens are locked for at least one year from launch, and the full supply unlocks within four years.

The Ritual mainnet is live, and the AI-chain crowd finally has a token to argue about. On Monday, October 26, the Ritual Foundation opened its public network, an EVM-compatible layer 1 built so smart contracts can call AI models, hit outside web services and schedule work for later. At launch, 1.8 billion RITUAL tokens unlocked, equal to 18% of the 10 billion initial supply, including a fully unlocked 50 million token community airdrop.

What actually happened

Ritual has been one of the longest-running "AI x crypto" builds, and Polymarket even had a market on when it would ship a token. The launch flips that from rumor to fact. Ritual's site now tells developers to follow a builder guide, pay for execution in native RITUAL and watch the network through a public explorer. Coinburn reported that Ritual's deployment docs list the public network as chain ID 784.

The pitch on ritual.net is blunt: "Ritual lets an AI be a company of its own." The idea is that an agent runs inside locked hardware, called a trusted execution environment or TEE, keeps its own wallet key there, pays its own bills and can switch providers if one shuts it off. The site shows demos like an always-on personal agent and a market for unused AI credits.

Under the hood, not every validator runs a model. Coinburn explained that specialized "AI executors" do the inference, HTTP calls and other compute inside TEEs. Users prepay through an onchain RITUAL balance, and executors get paid after returning a result. At launch, executors are admitted through attestation and an approved list, according to the foundation's tokenomics disclosure.

The Ritual mainnet token math

Here is how the unlocked 1.8 billion breaks down, per Coinburn's read of the foundation's numbers:

  • 1.25 billion from ecosystem growth and research
  • 500 million from the foundation treasury
  • 50 million for the community airdrop

TokenPost listed the bigger allocation buckets: 29% to core contributors, 25% to ecosystem growth and R&D, and 14% to network participation and future incentives. The rest goes to Labs investors, the foundation, the Labs treasury, frontier AI grants and a foundation private sale.

Note what is not unlocked: insiders. That is a plus for day one. But no supply cap plus a four-year unlock schedule means steady new supply for years. Coinburn also flagged that these are issuer disclosures, not an independent onchain supply audit.

Unlocked insiders would have been a red flag. Uncapped supply is a yellow one. Read both.

Why the airdrop is small but the story is big

Fifty million tokens is only 0.5% of initial supply. Compared with farm-heavy launches like the ones in our GenLayer airdrop piece, this is a modest community slice aimed at people who actually ran nodes or used Ritual apps.

The bigger story is the design bet: AI agents that hold keys and pay for compute onchain. That is the same lane as projects in our Celestia Eden chain AI agents coverage, and Ritual is now one of the few with a live mainnet. Coinburn found no independent data yet on how many autonomous agents are actually running, so usage claims should wait for explorer numbers.

What Polymarket thinks

Polymarket's "Will Ritual launch a token by ___?" event is mostly settled by the launch. At our 06:03 UTC (09:03 MSK) snapshot on October 27, the December 31, 2026 bracket traded near 99.7% Yes. That is the market treating the token launch as done, pending formal resolution under its rules.

What to do as a reader

If you think you qualify for the airdrop, go only through links from ritual.net and the official Ritual X account. Fresh airdrops are prime time for fake claim sites and wallet drainers, and the Ritual mainnet launch is exactly the kind of event scammers clone within hours.

If you want to build, the Ritual mainnet is open now: follow the builder guide, test on small amounts and check the explorer before trusting any app. If you are thinking about the token, map the unlock schedule first. Uncapped supply, 5% early issuance and four years of unlocks all matter more than launch-day candles. Nothing here is investment advice.
