GenLayer airdrop: Snapshot Tonight, Registration Ends Monday

The GenLayer airdrop snapshot lands tonight, and if you farmed the GenLayer Portal this year, this is the deadline that matters. Eligibility is locked at 23:59 UTC on Sunday, October 25, registration stays open until Monday, October 26, and only wallets that register on the official site will be able to claim GEN later.

What actually happened

GenLayer posted "GEN Airdrop Registration is open" from its official X account at 15:51 UTC on October 21, linking to airdrop.genlayer.com and saying the window runs "until Monday, October 26," according to Coindaro, which also reviewed the airdrop terms. No closing hour was given for Monday, so treat Sunday night as your real cutoff.

The terms, last updated October 20, put the eligibility snapshot at 23:59 UTC on October 25. That is also when Season 1 of GenLayer Points closes. Telem reports that Season 2 starts on October 26 and runs until mainnet, and that points from the new season carry forward for people who miss this round.

The legal setup is spelled out too. The airdrop is made by Asimov Ltd, a British Virgin Islands company owned by the GenLayer Foundation, while Clique runs the airdrop website and claim contract, per Coindaro's read of the terms.

Who qualifies and how to register

There are two routes in. The first is a rewarded Discord role, with a list that includes names like Synapse, Neurohost, Brain and Singularity. The second is at least 150 GenLayer Points plus at least one accepted contribution on the Portal, or Discord XP from the earlier community program.

Some activity does not count on its own. Points earned only from automated onboarding or social tasks are not enough, and banned, duplicate or Sybil accounts are excluded. Team members and restricted persons are out as well, and participants must be adults.

Registering for the GenLayer airdrop is free. You open the site by typing the address yourself, connect the primary wallet linked to your Portal account, accept the terms and sign a message. There is no transaction and no fee. Telem notes that once a wallet is locked in, you cannot switch it, so pick carefully.

Even if the site says you are not eligible yet, register anyway. Status can change until the snapshot, and unregistered wallets get nothing.

That last point trips people up every cycle. The terms say the balance, rank or eligibility message shown before the snapshot is for information only and does not confirm an allocation.

What GEN is for

GenLayer is a blockchain built around what it calls Intelligent Contracts. These mix normal code with steps that are not deterministic, like asking a large language model a question or reading data from the web, things most chains push to an oracle.

Because two validators can get slightly different AI answers, GenLayer uses a consensus model it calls Optimistic Democracy. A leader proposes a result and a committee checks it against an equivalence rule written into the contract. According to the terms, GEN is used for network fees, staking and governance.

The token economics are thin on detail. The airdrop terms describe a 20% unlock at TGE with the remaining 80% released over four months. Coindaro notes that claiming early forfeits the locked part. The total size of the airdrop and the TGE date have not been announced, so nobody can tell you what an allocation is worth.

A tiny Polymarket market on GenLayer's valuation one day after launch exists, but it had only about $4,000 in volume and quotes that did not line up across strikes when we checked, so we are not treating it as a signal.

What to do as a reader

If you have Portal activity, register before 23:59 UTC tonight. That is 02:59 Moscow time on Monday and 7:59 PM ET on Sunday. Use the official GenLayer airdrop site only, typed by hand, and sign nothing that asks for a token approval or a transfer.

Do not overpay for this one. With no supply split, no TGE date and a vesting schedule, the GenLayer airdrop is a maybe, not a payday. Register if you qualify, keep farming Season 2 only if you like the product, and treat any value as a bonus. Nothing here is investment advice.
