SWAN airdrop: 100K Tokens for swanUSD Stakers on Monolith

The SWAN airdrop splits 100,000 tokens equally among partner-community wallets that hold 1,000+ staked swanUSD for seven days by November 19 at 16:00 UTC.

SWAN airdrop: 100K Tokens for swanUSD Stakers on Monolith
tl;dr
  • swanUSD is a DAO-governed stablecoin backed by wstETH, Lido's wrapped staked ether, per the official site.
  • The 100,000 SWAN pool is 1% of a 10 million fixed supply and is split equally per qualifying wallet, according to airdrops.io.
  • Convex, one of the partner communities, paired its activation post with a phishing warning: it will not post any more links from that account.

The SWAN airdrop is the DeFi farm of the week for Curve and Convex veterans. Monolith, a permissionless stablecoin factory from the team behind Inverse Finance, launched swanUSD on October 22 at 16:00 UTC, and 100,000 SWAN governance tokens are up for grabs. The catch: you need a qualifying partner position and at least 1,000 staked swanUSD held for seven straight days by November 19.

What actually happened

The swanUSD site calls it "a dollar for black swan events." You deposit wstETH to mint swanUSD, stake it as sSwanUSD to earn interest paid by borrowers, then deposit sSwanUSD to earn SWAN. The site lists minting at 0% or a variable rate, redemption for wstETH, and 1:1 swaps with sUSDS.

It also makes some design promises: no custodian, no freezing and no bank exposure, plus rules that become "immutable within four years at most." Monolith's core contracts were audited by Electisec, ChainSecurity and Sherlock, the site says. Audits reduce risk, they do not remove it.

Monolith itself is a factory: anyone can use it to deploy an isolated, crypto-backed stablecoin on Ethereum without asking permission, and it already runs markets such as invUSD, per airdrops.io. The same guide says Inverse DAO approved a launch budget of roughly $332,000 in 2025 for audits and marketing. Monolith has no native token confirmed, so SWAN is the reward here.

Who qualifies for the SWAN airdrop

There are two parts, per the airdrops.io guide, which was updated October 23:

  • Your wallet must belong to a launch partner community: Curve (veCRV), Convex (vlCVX), Yearn (yCRV holders and stakers), Stake DAO (sdCRV, vlSDT) or Inverse (INV, FiRM INV stakers, sINV and some Monolith collateral users).
  • You must hold at least 1,000 sSwanUSD for seven continuous days inside the first 28 days after launch, which runs from October 22 to November 19, 2026.

Wallets are counted once, so holding both veCRV and vlCVX in one address does not double your share. Unstaked swanUSD does not count. And because the split is equal per wallet, holding 100,000 sSwanUSD earns the same as holding 1,000, as long as you meet the rules.

Equal splits reward breadth, not size. That also means the value of each share depends on how many wallets qualify, which nobody knows yet.

The fine print on debt modes

When you mint swanUSD you pick a debt mode. Free debt costs 0% interest, but your position can be redeemed against, which can close part of your loan. Paid debt charges a variable rate and is not redeemable, per airdrops.io. This matters because a redemption could drop your stake under 1,000 and break the seven-day streak.

Your collateral is ETH-based, so a sharp ETH drop can push a loan toward liquidation. Keep a healthy buffer if you mint.

Why the SWAN airdrop is getting attention

New stablecoins keep launching, and most fight for the same deposits. We looked at that crowded field in our Open USD stablecoin piece and our USDAU stablecoin explainer. Swan's angle is to target existing governance holders in the Curve ecosystem, people who already lock tokens for the long run, instead of chasing mercenary farmers.

We do not know how many wallets will qualify, what SWAN will trade at, or whether it will trade at all. Neither source gives a token price, and we will not guess one.

What to do as a reader

If you are eligible and want to try, start from the official site and Monolith docs only. Convex warned that any links that appear under its activation post claiming to be Convex are spam or phishing. Fake "claim" pages are the biggest risk in any SWAN airdrop.

Do the math before you mint. You will pay Ethereum gas, take on liquidation and smart contract risk, and lock up capital for at least a week for a reward of unknown value. If 1,000 dollars of exposure to a brand new stablecoin makes you nervous, skip it. This is not investment advice, and no airdrop is guaranteed income.
