The Incentiv CENT listing on Gate lands today, and it comes with a free airdrop for GT holders. Gate said it will open CENT/USDT spot trading on October 12 at 09:00 UTC, right after a HODLer Airdrop that splits 34,482,759 CENT among users holding at least 1 GT. Incentiv pitches itself as a proof-of-work EVM layer 1 with account abstraction built in, now aiming at AI agents.

What actually happened

Gate posted the listing announcement on October 11 at 09:42 UTC. It covers three things at once: spot trading, convert trading and a limited-time HODLer Airdrop, number 343 in Gate's series. Participation is free, and Gate says no funds are deducted from participants after the airdrop ends.

The timeline is tight. The airdrop window was set to close at 08:00 UTC on October 12, which is 4:00 a.m. ET. Spot trading on CENT/USDT follows an hour later at 09:00 UTC, or 5:00 a.m. ET. Convert trading is scheduled for 10:00 UTC, and withdrawals open October 13 at 09:00 UTC, both "subject to the actual status of the asset."

To take part, users needed to complete identity verification, hold at least 1 GT and join through Earn, then HODLer Airdrop. Rewards are split by each user's share of the GT snapshot. VIP 0 to VIP 4 accounts are capped at 5,000 GT counted, the cap climbs through VIP 9 at 22,500 GT, and VIP 10 and above have no cap.

What is Incentiv, anyway?

Per its official site, Incentiv is a live EVM-compatible proof-of-work layer 1 built around native Advanced Account Abstraction. That means programmable accounts by default, with tools like Portal, a Portal SDK, Paymasters and a Unified Token system meant to make the chain easier to use. It also runs its own native DEX and bridge.

CENT is the native asset for gas settlement and ecosystem incentives. Through a program called Incentiv+, the project says users, agents, dApps, miners, bundlers and liquidity providers can earn extra CENT for "qualified contribution" from limited reward pools, rather than for raw transaction count.

The new angle is agents. Incentiv says people and apps will be able to give AI agents budgets, permissions and revocable authority on-chain, and that a Portal MCP will help agents find models, tools, data and compute. Longer term, it plans to evolve its proof-of-work foundation into proof of useful work, where miners run AI computation. That is a roadmap, not a shipped feature.

The token numbers

Gate lists CENT as an ERC-20 with a total supply of 100,000,000,000 tokens. The allocation table it published breaks down like this:

  • Sale (private, strategic and public): 22.0%, no unlock at TGE, 6-month cliff, 12-month vesting.
  • Short Term Growth Fund: 17.0%, 20% unlocked at TGE, 24-month vesting.
  • Long Term Growth Fund: 20.0%, Team and Advisors: 15.0%, Community Rewards: 26.0%, all with nothing unlocked at TGE.

Do the math on that table and the only bucket with a TGE unlock is the Short Term Growth Fund, at 20% of 17%, or about 3.4% of total supply. The Gate airdrop itself is roughly 0.034% of supply, so it is a marketing slice, not a meaningful float. Team tokens sit behind a 12-month cliff, and the sale tranche behind six months.

Free tokens are nice. The unlock schedule is what moves price later.

Why the Incentiv CENT listing matters

Exchange airdrops for brand-new tokens are a well-worn launch move: hand out a small slice, open spot right after and let price discovery happen in public. The Incentiv CENT listing follows that script, so expect the first hours of CENT/USDT to be noisy as airdrop recipients decide whether to hold or sell.

We have covered similar setups, from Gate's futures points airdrop to the Hooked MEXC listing. Launch-day books like these tend to be thin, so moves can be fast and the real supply picture often only becomes clear later.

Gate's own risk warning is blunt. It calls HODLer Airdrop projects early-stage startups with significant operational, technical and regulatory risk, and says the project team offers no price guarantees or protection against price drops.

What to do as a reader

If you received CENT, remember that withdrawals do not open until October 13 at 09:00 UTC, so any early trading happens inside Gate's own order book. Check the token contract against the Etherscan link in Gate's announcement before you send anything anywhere.

If you are thinking of buying, look past the airdrop headline. Read the vesting table, watch how the Short Term Growth Fund unlock is used and treat the agent and proof-of-useful-work story as roadmap until it ships. Users in restricted regions cannot join at all, per Gate's rules.

Keep size small around the open, when spreads and slippage are usually at their worst. Nothing here is investment advice.

Not financial advice. DYOR, ser.
