Early story. Some claims here are not officially confirmed yet. We update this post as it confirms.

- Polymarket prices ETH above $2,200 on Sunday at about 82.9% and above $2,300 at about 8.5%.
- Ether fell about 4.4% on Friday as the Binance hack hit crypto, then stabilized near $2,240.
- The Binance hacker swapped a basket of stolen altcoins into roughly 70,480 ETH, so a big ETH bag now sits with the attacker.

The ethereum november 1 ladder is surprisingly calm for a week this loud. At our 05:59 UTC Polymarket snapshot on October 31 (08:59 MSK), "ETH above $2,200 on November 1" traded near 82.9% Yes, while "above $2,300" sat around 8.5%. Spot ether was near $2,240 on CoinGecko, roughly flat on the day after Friday's hack-driven drop.
What actually happened
The Binance breach dominated Friday. CNBC reported ether dropped about 4.4% to around $2,229 as the record theft rattled digital assets, while BNB slid about 6%. Kriptosignal's daily roundup for October 30 put ETH down about 4.5% near $2,250, with bitcoin dominance climbing as money fled altcoins.
By Saturday morning the selling had cooled. CoinGecko showed ETH near $2,240, up about 0.1% over 24 hours at 06:00 UTC. That is the starting line for the ethereum november 1 market, which settles Sunday at noon ET.
The ETH-specific wrinkle is the attacker's portfolio. Lookonchain reported that the hacker finished selling UNI, ENA, PEPE, LINK, AAVE, ONDO and WLD, converting the lot into about 70,480 ETH worth roughly $158 million. PeckShield separately tracked thousands of ETH being consolidated into a new address.
What Polymarket thinks
Here is the ethereum november 1 ladder from the Polymarket API at 05:59:42 UTC:
- Above $2,000: about 98.9% Yes
- Above $2,100: about 98.2% Yes
- Above $2,200: about 82.9% Yes
- Above $2,300: about 8.5% Yes
- Above $2,400: under 1% Yes
The event had about $107,000 in total volume, with around $49,000 in the last 24 hours. The market page resolves on the close of the Binance ETH/USDT one-minute candle at 12:00 ET on November 1 (17:00 UTC, 20:00 MSK).
The read is simple. Traders think ether most likely ends Sunday in a band between $2,200 and $2,300. A drop back under $2,200 gets about a one-in-six chance; a rally above $2,300 gets less than one in ten. Compared with the bitcoin ladder, where the nearest upside rung is priced closer to a coin flip, the ether market looks more pinned.
A 70,000 ETH bag in a thief's wallet is the kind of overhang that keeps upside rungs cheap.
The hacker's ETH is the wild card
Stolen funds usually get laundered, not dumped on order books. That often means bridges, mixers or swaps over time rather than one big market sell. Still, traders hate not knowing where a large bag will go, and that uncertainty tends to cap enthusiasm.
There is also the Binance angle. The ethereum november 1 market settles on Binance's own ETH/USDT pair, on the same Sunday the exchange hopes to restart withdrawals. If that goes smoothly, it could ease nerves. If it slips, it could add a fresh round of headlines right before the noon ET cutoff.
We tracked the bitcoin version of this market in bitcoin october 31, and our earlier ethereum october 16 piece explains how these daily ladders usually behave in the last 24 hours.
What could move the rungs
Three things are worth watching into Sunday. First, any large transfer from the hacker's ETH addresses, which trackers tend to flag within minutes. Second, Binance's withdrawal restart and the proof of reserves promised for Monday. Third, the broader risk mood, since CoinDesk tied Friday's crypto slide partly to a weak day for tech stocks.
None of these is predictable. The point is that the ladder can look sleepy for hours and then jump a full rung on one headline.
What to do as a reader
Use the ladder to understand the crowd's range, not to predict a price. At 82.9%, the $2,200 rung says most traders expect ETH to hold current levels; the interesting disagreement sits around $2,300.
Refresh before you act. Weekend liquidity is thinner, and both the hacker's ETH movements and Binance's restart could reprice rungs quickly. Check the noon ET deadline in your timezone.
Follow on-chain trackers for the stolen ETH. Lookonchain, PeckShield and Arkham are the fastest public sources for big moves from the attacker's addresses.
Nothing here is investment advice. Prediction markets can be wrong, and you can lose your entire stake on a single rung.
