The bitcoin october 31 odds flipped hard overnight after the Binance hack hit the tape. At 06:02 UTC (09:02 MSK) on Friday, October 30, Polymarket priced "above $78,000" for the noon ET print on October 31 at about 62% Yes, while "above $80,000" had dropped to about 21.5%. One day earlier, $80K was the line everyone was arguing about.

What actually happened

The trigger was not macro this time. CNBC reported that bitcoin slid more than 4% to about $77,995 in Asian hours as a potential security breach at Binance spread across crypto feeds, with ether down near 4.8% and BNB down roughly 7.7%. Circle and Tether froze a combined $2.54 billion linked to the incident, according to the same report.

Reuters, via Nikkei Asia, put the low at a six-week bottom near $77,646 for bitcoin and a two-month low near $2,238 for ether. Benzinga added that roughly $1.5 billion of positions were liquidated in a day, with longs taking about $1.3 billion of that hit, citing Coinglass. When the biggest exchange on the planet pauses withdrawals, leverage gets flushed first and questions get asked later.

By our CoinGecko snapshot at 06:00 UTC, BTC had bounced a little to about $78,406. That is the whole story of this ladder in one number: spot is sitting right on top of the $78K strike with roughly 30 hours to go.

What Polymarket thinks

The event is "Bitcoin above ___ on October 31?". Here is the ladder we pulled from Polymarket's public API at 06:02 UTC (09:02 MSK):

  • Above $74,000: about 96.6% Yes
  • Above $76,000: about 89.2% Yes
  • Above $78,000: about 62.2% Yes
  • Above $80,000: about 21.5% Yes
  • Above $82,000: about 4% Yes
  • Above $84,000: about 1.2% Yes

The event had about $268K of total volume and roughly $197K in the prior 24 hours, so most of the action on this ladder happened during the hack selloff. The $78K rung is the battleground. A 62% Yes there says traders lean toward BTC holding its current zone, but nowhere near confidently.

When spot sits on the strike, a 62% Yes is a coin flip with a slight lean, not a forecast.

Compare that with the mood on our bitcoin october 30 odds page, when $80K was still close to a toss-up, and the older bitcoin 80k dip odds piece, which framed $80K as the line bulls had to defend. That line broke.

Why the Binance story matters for this ladder

The bitcoin october 31 pricing is now a hack-recovery trade. CNBC quoted Fundstrat's Sean Farrell saying the incident does not currently appear to create meaningful solvency risk for Binance, and that the key tell is how fast withdrawals resume and whether outflows stay orderly. If withdrawals come back smoothly, the panic premium can fade fast. If they don't, the lower rungs get tested.

There is also an awkward detail in the rules. This market resolves on the Binance BTC/USDT one-minute candle that closes at 12:00 ET on October 31. Any outage, data glitch, or unusual print on that exact pair would matter directly, and a venue under incident review is not a boring resolution source this week. Read the rules before you size anything.

Analysts quoted by Benzinga are watching the 365-day moving average near $77,406 (CryptoQuant's Julio Moreno) and the 200-day average near $73,000 (Ali Martinez) as support zones. Martinez himself called them levels to watch, "not guaranteed bottoms."

What to do as a reader

Treat the bitcoin october 31 ladder as a sentiment gauge, not a signal. A rung priced near 62% will swing on every headline about Binance withdrawals, stolen-fund tracing, or ETF flows. If you trade it, size small and assume you can be wrong by a few hundred dollars at exactly noon ET.

Check the live Polymarket event before acting. Our numbers are a 06:02 UTC snapshot and will be stale within hours. Also check the Binance status page and official channels for withdrawal updates, since that is the variable driving this whole board.

Nothing here is investment advice. Prediction markets can zero your stake, and a short-dated crypto contract around a live security incident is about as volatile as it gets. Simple as.
