Ethereum October 16 odds on Polymarket put the 2,400–2,500 bracket in front at 85% Yes as of about 05:57 UTC (08:57 MSK), with 2,300–2,400 at 8% and 2,500–2,600 at 7%. The market settles on the Binance ETH/USDT one-minute close at 12:00 ET today.

What actually happened

Daily ETH brackets work like the Bitcoin ones: Yes shares on the Binance one-minute close at noon Eastern, higher bracket wins on an exact boundary print. Yesterday morning’s board favored 2,300–2,400 at about 66% with spot near $2,348 after a −6% day, as we wrote in Ethereum October 15 odds. Today spot is roughly $100 higher and the favorite has flipped up a full thousand-dollar-wide bucket.

That bounce tracks the broader risk-on tone versus yesterday’s washout, the same shift we flagged on the Bitcoin side in Bitcoin October 15 odds. Same-day ETH markets are still mostly geometry and clock management, not a staking thesis.

What Polymarket thinks

At the ~05:57 UTC seed read, Ethereum October 16 odds showed 2,400–2,500 at 85%, 2,300–2,400 at 8% and 2,500–2,600 at 7%. Gamma ~05:58 UTC printed 84.0%, 7.5% and 7.2% for those three, with event volume near $54.0K and liquidity near $174K. We keep the seed 85% as the headline and store the gamma JSON under pm/.

When spot sits inside the favorite bucket, the board is pricing hold-the-line more than hero-or-zero.

The live event is on Polymarket.

Reading the bracket geometry

With ETH near $2,445.81, price sits almost in the middle of the leading 2,400–2,500 range — roughly $46 above the floor and $54 below the ceiling. That centered geometry is why 85% looks so heavy: the crowd needs a decisive break to reprice either neighbor. A slide under 2,400 opens 2,300–2,400; a push through 2,500 opens the upper neighbor. Both of those outcomes are still single-digit Yes prices at the snapshot.

Liquidity near $174K is thinner than the House midterm book and in the same neighborhood as today’s Bitcoin daily event. One energetic flow can move a bracket without rewriting anyone’s long-term Ether view.

Volatility regime versus bracket width

Yesterday’s ETH board lived through a −6% spot day and still concentrated in a single $100-wide bucket. Today’s board concentrates even harder after a +4% bounce. That is the market telling you realized overnight volatility compressed relative to the bucket width. When the favorite prints 85%, the interesting trades — if you follow the board as a sport — are usually in the wings, not in the favorite itself, because the favorite is already priced like a hold.

Still, wings at 7–8% can go to near-zero or spike if a single cascade hits into the noon window. Liquidity near $174K does not absorb a leveraged unwind the way a multi-million election market does. Keep the same discipline we use on Bitcoin dailies: snapshot, source, boundary rule.

For macro-adjacent reading outside the daily bracket game, longer-dated crypto hit markets (like October high/low ladders) answer different questions. Do not paste a daily 85% into a monthly thesis thread.

One more practical note on clock management: the Moscow label for settlement is 19:00 MSK. If you are watching from Europe/Moscow, that is evening tape, not a lunch print. Screenshots taken at 09:00 MSK describing “the close” are morning noise. Rebuild the board after US cash open if you care about the last three hours of path dependency.

Spot’s seat near the middle of 2,400–2,500 also means both wings are roughly equidistant in dollar terms. That symmetry is rare on mornings when BTC sits glued to a bracket floor. It is one reason the Ethereum favorite can look “boringly high” while Bitcoin’s favorite still feels fragile. Different geometries, same settlement clock.

What to do as a reader

If you follow the Ethereum October 16 odds for the game, freeze the snapshot time, the leading bucket, and Binance as the resolution source. Our headline board is ~05:57 UTC. Recheck spot near the close rather than trusting a morning screenshot.

Remember the boundary rule: a print exactly on 2,400 resolves to 2,400–2,500, not 2,300–2,400. Do not treat 85% as a lock — it is a traded price on a modest book. Nothing here is investment advice.
