Ethereum October 15 odds on Polymarket have one clear favorite. As of about 06:01 UTC (09:01 MSK), the 2,300–2,400 bracket traded at 65.9% Yes, with 2,200–2,300 at 16.4% and 2,400–2,500 at 15%. The market settles on the Binance ETH/USDT one-minute close at 12:00 ET today, which is 16:00 UTC or 19:00 MSK.
What actually happened
Polymarket's daily Ethereum brackets work like the Bitcoin version. Traders buy Yes on the $100 range they think the Binance ETH/USDT one-minute candle will close in at noon Eastern. If the close lands exactly on a boundary, the market resolves to the higher bracket.
The story is the overnight move. Yesterday morning, at the same snapshot time, ETH was near $2,501 and the board was a coin flip between 2,500–2,600 at 51% and 2,400–2,500 at 45%, as we wrote in Ethereum October 14. Twenty-four hours later spot is roughly $150 lower and the favorite has dropped two full brackets. A 6% daily drop does that to a $100-wide grid.
Bitcoin had a softer day, sliding about 3.4% on CoinGecko over the same window, and its own board moved down one bracket. For the BTC side of yesterday's comparison, see Bitcoin October 14. ETH underperforming BTC on a risk-off day is not unusual, and today the gap shows up in both books at once.
What Polymarket thinks
At the 06:01 UTC gamma snapshot, the Ethereum October 15 odds read: 2,300–2,400 at 65.85%, 2,200–2,300 at 16.4%, 2,400–2,500 at 15.0%, 2,100–2,200 at 1.25% and 2,500–2,600 at 1.1%. Everything else was below one percent. The leading bracket's book was extremely tight, with a bid near 65.8 cents and an ask near 65.9 cents.
Each bracket is its own binary market, so the prices do not have to add up to exactly 100. Read each one as the crowd's price for that range alone. The near-symmetry between the bracket below (16.4%) and the bracket above (15%) matches the geometry: spot sits in the middle of the range, so the crowd sees roughly equal odds of a $50 slide or a $50 bounce before noon ET.
When spot sits in the middle of the bucket, the crowd is pricing time, not direction.
The live board is on Polymarket. Our gamma JSON from 06:01 UTC is saved in the batch folder so the morning read stays fixed.
Why 66% is not a lock
Ten hours is a long time after a 6% day. ETH needs to move only about 2% in either direction to leave the leading bracket. On a calm day that might be a stretch. On a day that already printed a 6% drop, a 2% wiggle is ordinary. The 66% price says the crowd thinks a calmer afternoon is more likely, not guaranteed.
Liquidity also matters. With about $250K of liquidity across the whole event, one determined trader can push a single bracket around for a while. That can make the board look more confident, or more nervous, than the broader market really is. Flow data from spot ETFs is a separate signal; our Ethereum ETF outflows piece covers how quickly those flows flipped around the turn of the month.
What to do as a reader
If you are following the Ethereum October 15 odds for fun, note the snapshot time, the leading bracket and the resolution source before you quote anything. Our numbers are from 06:01 UTC, and a refresh at about 06:04 UTC had CoinGecko ETH at $2,346.79, so the picture had barely moved at that point.
Watch the distance to the walls, not the headline percentage. If ETH slips under $2,300 or pushes over $2,400, the favorite changes in minutes. Remember that settlement uses Binance's ETH/USDT candle at exactly 12:00 ET, not a CoinGecko average and not a screenshot from a group chat. A close at exactly 2,400 resolves to 2,400–2,500.
Treat 65.9% as a traded price at one moment, not a forecast you can bank on. The board will look different by noon ET, or it will not, and that is information too. Nothing here is investment advice.
Not financial advice. DYOR, ser.
