Bitcoin October 26 odds on Polymarket show a market that still leans toward $80,000 holding, but with a lot less conviction than the day before. As of 05:59 UTC on Sunday, October 25, traders priced BTC closing above $80,000 at noon ET on Monday at about 66.5%, above $82,000 at about 17.5% and above $78,000 at about 94%, with spot bitcoin near $80,500.
What actually happened
Bitcoin spent the weekend pinned around the $80,000 mark. At our CoinGecko check at 06:04 UTC on October 25, BTC traded near $80,472, down about 0.2% on the day and roughly 1.5% on the week.
The backdrop has not changed much since Thursday. CoinDesk reported that the Nasdaq Composite fell 2.6% on October 22, its steepest drop since June, and that US spot bitcoin ETFs saw about $635 million in net outflows that day after strong inflows earlier in the week. CoinDesk also flagged Brent crude near $113 as a reason inflation worries stay alive.
The next big date is the Fed. The FOMC meets October 27-28, with the decision due at 2:00 PM ET on Wednesday. Polymarket's "Fed Decision in October?" market priced no change at about 94.5% and a 25 basis point hike at about 4.5% in our snapshot, so a hold is the base case. Our Fed October hold piece breaks down that market in detail.
What Polymarket thinks
Polymarket's daily ladder "Bitcoin above ___ on October 26?" treats each price as its own yes/no market. Our snapshot from the Polymarket API at 05:59 UTC on October 25:
- Above $76,000: about 98.8%
- Above $78,000: about 93.7%
- Above $80,000: about 66.5%
- Above $82,000: about 17.5%
- Above $84,000: about 2.7%
The headline question is "Will the price of Bitcoin be above $80,000 on October 26?" and it traded near 66.5% Yes. The event had seen about $143,000 in volume.
Read it like a staircase. If $78K is near 94% and $80K is near 66.5%, traders put roughly 27% on BTC landing between $78,000 and $80,000 at noon ET Monday. If $80K is 66.5% and $82K is 17.5%, about 49% sits on the $80K-$82K band. The crowd expects a close near current levels, with the downside tail fatter than the upside.
One more day of risk, plus Wall Street reopening on Monday, is worth almost 20 points on the $80K line. That gap is the whole story.
Compare it with Sunday's ladder. In the same pull, the October 25 market had $80K near 85%. Our Bitcoin October 25 odds piece covered that one, and the drop from Sunday to Monday shows how much traders fear a Monday-morning move once US stocks trade again.
How to read these numbers
A 66.5% Yes price means about 66 cents buys a share that pays $1 if the specific Binance candle closes above $80,000. It is not a forecast from an analyst, just where buyers and sellers meet right now.
Weekly context helps. Polymarket's "What price will Bitcoin hit October 19-25?" still priced a dip to $80,000 before the week closes at about 58.5% and a run to $82,000 at about 18.5%. Those lines resolve on intraweek highs and lows, so they are a different question from the Monday close. For more on the downside setup, see our Bitcoin $80K dip odds explainer.
Thin weekend books cut both ways. A single large order on Binance can push price through a line for a few minutes, and only one minute counts here.
What to do as a reader
Check the live Polymarket October 26 ladder before trusting any snapshot. The Bitcoin October 26 odds will move every time BTC ticks, and they can swing hard when US markets open Monday.
Know the clock. The deciding candle closes at 12:00 ET on Monday, which is 16:00 UTC and 19:00 in Moscow. Nothing after that minute counts.
Treat a 66.5% favorite as what it is: a lean, not a lock. Roughly one in three times, a price like this loses. Prediction markets are speculative, nothing here is investment advice, and you should size any trade so a loss does not hurt.
