Quack AI surge: Q Rips 258% on Mostly Fake Volume
tl;dr
  • CoinGecko showed about $288 million in 24-hour volume, but Coincu's on-chain analysis flagged 78% of transfer volume as wash trading, leaving roughly $17 million to $21 million of "real" volume.
  • Two large wallets holding about 1.74% of supply had been accumulating for 24 days with zero outbound transfers, per Coincu.
  • Coincu also lists the Q contract as mintable, meaning whoever holds the mint role can create new tokens.

The Quack AI surge is the loudest chart in crypto this morning, and the receipts behind it look shaky. Quack AI's Q token ran about 258% in 24 hours to near $0.203, according to CoinGecko at 06:03 UTC (09:03 MSK) on Tuesday, October 27, after printing an all-time high near $0.228 at 02:20 UTC. Market cap jumped to roughly $955 million. Nobody has found an official reason for the move.

What actually happened

Q was the second most-searched coin on CoinGecko late Monday, behind Pudgy Penguins, TokenPost reported. By then it was already up about 278% on the day. On the sasa memecoin tracker, a Quack AI Token pool on BNB Chain led all coins by 24-hour volume on October 27.

The move did not come from nowhere. CoinStats' recap says Q gained about 296% over the past week, including an 83% jump on October 18 driven by futures liquidations. Shorts getting blown out is a classic fuel source for a run like this.

One trader made headlines too. CoinStats, citing TokenPost, said a wallet identified as 0xF1fE made about $963,000 on the Aster exchange, mostly from a long Q position. That is the kind of PnL screenshot that pulls in late buyers.

Why the Quack AI surge looks engineered

Coincu's breakdown is the part to read twice. Of 3,493 transfers it analyzed, only 7 were classified as clean. It found 116 net-zero transactions, 40 round-trip flows and 155 cycle transfers across 216 flagged wallets. Those are the fingerprints of volume being faked to look busy.

It also traced 28 root and deployer wallets that spread tokens across the network between July 31 and October 27, a pattern it labeled "CONTROLLED_SUPPLY." Coincu put user retail float at 0.0% across the wallets it classified. In plain terms, insiders and market makers set the price, and retail mostly chases.

Venue mix matters too. Coincu said Bithumb carried the largest share of reported volume at about $89 million, followed by PancakeSwap V3 on BNB Chain at about $66 million and Gate at about $47 million. Korean retail flow can move small caps hard, as we saw in PUFFER Upbit listing.

A 258% day with 78% fake volume is not a breakout. It is a stage set, and someone is selling tickets.

How to read a pump like this

Start with float. If most supply sits with a small group, even modest buying can move price a lot, and the same group can dump into any rally. Then check whether volume is coming from places where you can see real order books and pools, or from venues with weak wash controls.

Finally, ask who benefits from attention. Search rankings, PnL screenshots and trending lists all feed each other. That loop can run for days, but it rarely ends well for people who arrive last.

What is not confirmed

Coincu said it found no confirmed catalyst: no partnership, no listing, no unlock tied to the move. CoinStats mentioned an unconfirmed unlock of about 241 million tokens following the token's September 2025 TGE, but that has not been verified. Quack AI's team had not posted an explanation at our check.

Wash-heavy pumps often end the same way. Coincu compared it to the MemeCore decline, where inflated volume came before a sharp reversal. We covered MemeCore's wild run in MemeCore flips PEPE, and the whale side of these setups in Artificial Inu whale.

What to do as a reader

If you are tempted by the Quack AI surge, assume the volume number is mostly fake until proven otherwise. Look at real liquidity on the DEX pools, not reported exchange volume. Check CoinGecko's Q page for live price and the venues behind it.

Watch the two accumulator wallets and the mint role. If those wallets start sending to exchanges, or new tokens get minted, that is your exit signal, not your entry.

If you trade perps on Q, mind funding and liquidation levels. The October 18 squeeze shows this coin can move violently both ways. Size tiny, use stops and nothing here is investment advice.
