Pump.fun TON support: Telegram's Chain Joins the Pump App

Pump.fun TON support went live on October 27, letting app users buy TON tokens with USDC as the launchpad fights a boycott with new chains and prizes.

Pump.fun TON support: Telegram's Chain Joins the Pump App
tl;dr
  • The integration adds TON to Pump.fun's cross-chain trading list, so it is about trading existing TON tokens, not launching new ones there.
  • It lands in the middle of Pump.fun's $2.5 million Squads trading competition, which started on October 26 and runs two weeks.
  • It also lands during a loud #BoycottPumpFun campaign and a dip in launchpad revenue.

Pump.fun TON support went live on October 27, and it is the clearest sign yet that the Solana launchpad wants to be a trading app for every chain. Users can now buy tokens on The Open Network, the blockchain closely tied to Telegram, straight from their USDC balance in the Pump.fun app. TON's official account answered with "You can now trade every TON token on the @Pumpfun app!" At 06:03 UTC (09:03 MSK) on October 28, CoinGecko had TON near $1.24, up about 2.5% on the day, and PUMP near $0.00434, up about 4.2%.

What actually happened

Pump.fun announced on X that "TON is live on the Pumpfun app", describing it as the "fastest crosschain social app with the cheapest fees". Altcoin Buzz reported that co-founder Alon Cohen pointed to user demand for broader token access, and that the move pushes Pump.fun further toward being a multi-chain trading interface instead of a Solana-only launchpad.

The mechanics are simple. You hold USDC in the app, pick a TON token, and the app routes the trade. You do not need to bridge or hold TON for gas yourself. Altcoin Buzz also flagged the caveats. App support does not mean every TON token will be liquid, and slippage, routing and fees can all differ from native TON apps.

Why TON? It has a huge built-in audience through Telegram wallets and mini apps, and memecoins there often spread through group chats. If Pump.fun can capture even part of that flow, it gets fee revenue from a market it did not have to build.

Why Pump.fun TON support comes at an awkward time

The timing is not random. Pump.fun is fighting for attention on several fronts. CryptoVank, citing DefiLlama, reported launchpad revenue falling from about $1.78 million on October 4 to about $1.15 million on October 24. It also counted more than 3,000 X posts using #BoycottPumpFun between October 20 and 25, with complaints about promoted coins crashing and rewards for regular traders.

Pump.fun's answer so far has been more products and more prizes. The Squads competition pays $1.5 million, $750,000 and $250,000 to the three teams with the best spot profit and loss over two weeks. Only trades on the Pump.fun app, web app and Terminal count, and perpetual futures do not. The official terms ban bots and coordinated wallets and require identity checks before prizes are paid. We covered the earlier fallout in Pump.fun boycott and the perps push in Pump.fun perps.

Adding a new chain is the cheapest way to grow volume without fixing why old users are angry.

What it means for TON memecoins

For TON projects, Pump.fun is another storefront. A token that trends inside the Pump.fun app can reach Solana traders who never opened a TON wallet. That can bring fresh buyers, but it can also bring the same fast flipping that Solana memecoins are known for.

For Pump.fun, the test is volume. If TON trades show up in its daily fee data over the next weeks, the integration worked. If they do not, it is a press release. A good early signal will be whether any TON memecoin reaches Pump.fun's trending lists without paid promotion, because that would show organic demand from the existing user base. Squads teams may also use TON tokens to chase profit, as long as the trades go through Pump.fun's supported platforms.

What to do as a reader

Treat Pump.fun TON support as a new door, not a new safety check. Pump.fun routing a trade does not mean it has vetted the token. Check contract addresses on official TON project channels before buying.

Compare prices with a native TON venue before large trades. Cross-chain routing can add hidden costs through slippage. Start with small test orders to see the real fill.

If you joined a Squad, read the competition terms, especially the rules on coordinated wallets. Disqualification means no prize. Nothing here is investment advice, and most memecoins lose most of their value.
