ares memecoin dump: One $72.7M Sale Tops Meme Volume
The ares memecoin dump turned one $72.72M sale into the top meme volume of November 1, leaving the BNB Chain token down about 99.98% with roughly $25K of liquidity.
Early story. Some claims here are not officially confirmed yet. We update this post as it confirms.

- GeckoTerminal shows the main ARES/WBNB pool fell about 99.98% over 24 hours, with roughly $25,000 left in liquidity at 06:06 UTC (09:06 MSK) on November 2.
- The same pool logged just 12 transactions over the day: 11 buys and 1 sell.
- The pool was created in March 2026, so this is not a fresh launch but an older token that collapsed.

The ares memecoin dump is the weirdest chart in crypto this weekend. ARES, a small token on BNB Chain, posted about $145.5 million in 24-hour volume on November 1, the most of any memecoin that day, according to sasa. Almost half of that came from a single sale: a $72.72 million dump at 10:14 UTC that took the price down nearly 100%.
What actually happened
sasa's November 1 archive lists ARES as the day's most traded memecoin, with a market cap of about $212,000 against $145.53 million of volume. Its whale-trade table shows one wallet, abbreviated 0xaf…ea3e, selling $72.72 million of ARES at 10:14 UTC.
That one trade was the largest memecoin trade sasa recorded that day by a wide margin. The next biggest was a $5.01 million sale of PONS on Robinhood Chain.
GeckoTerminal's pool data fills in the rest. The ARES/WBNB pool on BNB Chain was created on March 8, 2026. Over the 24 hours to our check, it showed about $145.4 million in volume, a price drop of about 99.98% and only one sell transaction. The fully diluted value it listed was about $1 million.
How the ares memecoin dump works on paper
A sale worth $72.72 million from a pool with tiny liquidity sounds impossible. The likely explanation is price math, not real money.
When a token's price is quoted from a thin pool, a huge number of tokens can be "valued" at a high price right before they are sold. The sale itself drains the pool and crushes the price, but trackers still record the trade's notional value. The real cash taken out is limited by how much BNB was in the pool.
We cannot confirm who sold or how much real value left the pool from the sources we reviewed. What the data does show is a classic pattern: a few buys, one massive sell, and a token left near zero.
Volume is not demand. One wallet can print a nine-figure day by dumping into a puddle.
Not the only one
sasa's November 2 BNB Chain board shows several other tokens with large volume and a 100% drop, including LYX Ecosystem, a token called "Grok Bot" and one named "SAFU Fund." Each had liquidity in the low thousands of dollars.
That pattern fits the post-hack meme wave on BNB Chain, where names tied to Binance and security jokes drew quick money. We covered the theme in safu memecoins and the hack itself in binance 6 3b hack. TokenPost also flagged a token called SIS that fell 98.2% in 24 hours despite more than 171,000 trades.
Why it matters
There is a second issue: these tokens can look alive in wallet apps. A price chart with a giant green volume bar and a recent spike is easy to misread at a glance, especially on a phone. sasa's November 2 board, for example, still listed ARES as the most traded memecoin a day after the collapse, because the 24-hour window had not rolled off yet. That keeps sending new eyes to a pool with almost nothing in it.
Volume rankings drive attention. Many traders sort by 24-hour volume to find "hot" coins, and ARES topped those lists. Anyone who bought because of the volume number walked into a token that was already dead.
It also distorts daily market summaries. sasa counted $103.32 million in $1,000-plus trades on November 1. A single ARES sale made up most of that.
What to do as a reader
Never treat volume as proof of demand, especially on small BNB Chain and Solana pools. Check liquidity, the number of transactions and the buy-to-sell split first. A pool with 12 trades and $145 million in volume is a red flag, not a signal.
Look at the pool yourself on GeckoTerminal before touching any token topping volume charts.
The ares memecoin dump is a lesson, not an opportunity. Nothing here is investment advice, and near-zero tokens can stay there forever.
Not financial advice. DYOR, ser.
