Uniswap aggregator hooks Go Live: v4 Taps Rival DEX Liquidity

Uniswap aggregator hooks are live on Ethereum, Base and Robinhood Chain, routing swaps through Curve, Fluid and PancakeSwap while protocol fees feed UNI burns.

Uniswap aggregator hooks Go Live: v4 Taps Rival DEX Liquidity
tl;dr
  • Uniswap Labs switched the hooks on for Ethereum, Base and Robinhood Chain on October 22, via both its web app and API.
  • Each hook wraps an external liquidity source so any router sees it as a Uniswap v4 pool, then compares prices and settles in one transaction.
  • The first aggregator hook went live in March 2026 on Tempo, the payments chain from Stripe and Paradigm.

Uniswap aggregator hooks are now live on Ethereum, Base and Robinhood Chain, letting Uniswap v4 route your swap through liquidity sitting on rival venues like Curve, Fluid and PancakeSwap. The twist for UNI holders: trades that use that outside liquidity still pay Uniswap protocol fees, and those fees feed UNI burns.

What actually happened

The Block reported on Thursday that Uniswap Labs had launched aggregator hooks on three of its busiest networks. Fluid, Curve and PancakeSwap are among the external sources at launch, and more chains are planned. Crypto Briefing, citing Uniswap's developer docs, added Slipstream and forks of Uniswap V2 and V3 to the supported list.

Here is the short version of how it works. Hooks are a v4 feature that let developers bolt custom logic onto liquidity pools. An aggregator hook makes a pool on another platform look like a native Uniswap v4 pool. When you swap, Uniswap checks prices across its own pools and those wrapped outside pools, then fills the trade in a single transaction.

"Each Aggregator Hook wraps an external source in a Uniswap v4 hook, so that any router sees it as a Uniswap pool," Uniswap Labs said, per The Block.

If you use the Uniswap web app, the outside sources are included automatically. Developers on the Uniswap API can route through them too. On Tempo, the feature is web-app only.

Why Uniswap aggregator hooks matter for UNI

The plan traces back to Uniswap's UNIfication proposal from November 2025, which described turning v4 into an aggregator. What makes this more than a routing upgrade is the fee angle. According to Uniswap Labs, trades routed through external liquidity pay Uniswap protocol fees, and those fees contribute to UNI token burns.

In plain degen terms: Uniswap is trying to earn on volume even when the actual liquidity lives somewhere else. Standalone aggregators have played that middleman role for years. Uniswap aggregator hooks pull part of that job into the protocol layer itself.

Uniswap Labs says the protocol has processed more than $4.5 trillion in total volume. Its argument is that while most on-chain liquidity is already on Uniswap, some keeps forming elsewhere, and the hooks are designed to bring it in.

Better routes for traders, a fee cut for the protocol, and a burn for UNI. That is the pitch.

The market did not exactly throw a party. CoinDesk noted UNI fell about 5% on Thursday amid a broad DeFi sell-off and was down around 20% for October, despite record fee revenue in September according to Token Terminal. One product launch does not override macro.

The Robinhood Chain angle

Robinhood Chain is a big part of this story. Crypto Briefing says the network, live since July 2026, has at times accounted for more than half of certain Uniswap volume metrics and has seen heavy hook adoption. That is a lot of meme and stock-token flow that can now tap deeper routes.

What to do as a reader

For traders, the practical change is that your quotes on the Uniswap app may now include liquidity from other DEXs. Look at the route details before you confirm a big swap, and compare with your usual aggregator. Better depth can mean less slippage, especially on thin pairs, but it is not guaranteed on every trade.

For builders, check the official Uniswap developer docs for what the hooks support on each chain. Crypto Briefing points out that routing across outside venues adds smart contract code and dependencies on those venues behaving as expected. More moving parts means more things to audit.

For UNI holders, Uniswap aggregator hooks add a new fee stream feeding burns, but nobody has published how big it will be. Watch real fee data over the coming weeks instead of guessing. Nothing here is investment advice, and burns do not promise a price.
