The pepe justin sun story lit up meme tape after Arkham flagged wallets it links to the Tron founder holding roughly $51 million of PEPE, and CoinDesk said the frog token jumped about 9.4% on that tape. CryptoBriefing put the Arkham-tagged stake near $51.25 million, or about 2.82% to 3% of supply, built over roughly ten days of transfers.
What actually happened
Arkham Intelligence posted that wallets it attributes to Justin Sun collectively held about 2.82% of PEPE supply, worth roughly $51.25 million when the firm flagged the position on October 27. CryptoTimes and CryptoBriefing both walked the same path: two large Poloniex withdrawals totaling about 11.85 trillion PEPE moved into those tagged wallets over roughly ten days.
CryptoBriefing added route detail. It said the tokens were first bought on Binance, then moved through Poloniex and HTX before settling in Sun-linked wallets, and that Sun also sent about $77 million in stablecoins to Poloniex in the same window. Before mid-October, the same coverage said his PEPE exposure was only around $267,000. None of that is a quote from Sun confirming he bought; it is Arkham attribution plus secondary reporting.
CoinDesk's October 28 market wrap then tied the holding story to price. PEPE led the CoinDesk 100 Index with a 9.4% gain while bitcoin rebounded above about $81,400 ahead of the Fed decision, and US spot bitcoin ETFs took in $176 million on Tuesday per Farside data cited in that piece. Floki and DOGE rose too, but PEPE was the meme headline.
By our CoinGecko snapshot at 06:11 UTC (09:11 MSK) on October 29, PEPE traded near $0.00000507, up about 6% on the day, with a market cap near $2.13 billion. That is cooler than the CoinDesk 9.4% print and still elevated versus a quiet session. Always stamp the time when you quote a meme percentage.
How to read the pepe justin sun wallet labels
Arkham's labels mix addresses it treats as confirmed with "predicted" wallets. CryptoTimes was explicit that those labels do not independently prove ownership of every address or explain why the tokens moved. Treat the $51 million figure as an analytics estimate, not a bank statement.
Exchanges still hold larger slices of PEPE than any individual. CryptoBriefing noted that among individuals Sun is first on Arkham's map, while CEX wallets remain bigger overall. As of October 12, Arkham had tagged about $2.25 billion of on-chain assets to Sun across chains, so a $51 million PEPE bag is a visible meme bet inside a much larger tagged portfolio.
Watch for flow back to exchanges. Large deposits onto trading venues often precede sales; tokens left in cold storage usually mean the holder is staying put. The pepe justin sun accumulation showed up as Poloniex withdrawals, so the reverse path would be the clean risk signal.
Why memes still move on celebrity wallets
Frog coins trade narrative as much as cash flow. A tagged whale stack from a known crypto founder is enough to reprice PEPE for a session even when bitcoin is the macro driver. That is the same attention machine we covered around pepe armstrong meme and the ETF-adjacent canary pepe etf chatter: labels move screens first, fundamentals later if at all.
Liquidity is thin enough that a few large tickets and a viral Arkham post can print a 9% day without a protocol upgrade. Pair the holding story with broader meme tape like memecore flips pepe rather than treating one wallet cluster as destiny.
Arkham can map a path. It cannot force the founder to tweet a confirmation, and it cannot stop the next dump if those wallets wake up.
What to do as a reader
If you follow the pepe justin sun tape, open Arkham's labels yourself and note which wallets are "official" versus "predicted." Cross-check CoinDesk, CryptoBriefing, and CryptoTimes instead of a single screenshot. Price quotes should carry a timestamp; our CoinGecko print is 06:11 UTC on October 29.
Do not invent a purchase confession from Sun. Do not treat 2.82% as locked forever. Memecoins can erase a week's gain in an hour, and nothing in this article is investment advice.
