Moonbirds BIRB rally: +40% as Ansem Revisits NFTs
The Moonbirds BIRB rally added about 40% in 24 hours as Ansem said NFTs deserve another look and Invisible Friends more than doubled its floor. Volume ran about twice the market cap.
Early story. Some claims here are not officially confirmed yet. We update this post as it confirms.

- CoinGecko, ~06:05 UTC Oct 21: BIRB at about $0.0654, market cap ~$18.7M, fully diluted value ~$65.5M, and roughly $38.0M of 24h volume, about twice its market cap.
- Despite the pop, BIRB was roughly flat over 30 days and about 86% below its $0.4769 all-time high from February 3, 2026.
- Only about 285M of BIRB's 1B total supply is circulating, so most tokens are still to come.

The Moonbirds BIRB rally is the loudest sign yet that NFT culture coins are back on traders' screens. BIRB, the Solana token from the Moonbirds owl NFT brand, jumped about 40% in 24 hours to around $0.0654 by 06:05 UTC on October 21, per CoinGecko. It came the same day Ansem told his followers that NFTs "deserve another look" and an old blue-chip collection, Invisible Friends, more than doubled its floor.
What actually happened
There was no single Moonbirds announcement behind the move, at least none we could find from the project's official channels in the past day. The rally lines up with a wider "NFTs are back" mood on crypto X instead.
The spark most traders pointed to was Ansem. At 13:51 UTC on October 20 he posted that "NFTs are an area of crypto that i think deserves another look," arguing the 2021 crash soured people on the idea but the concept still makes sense as more businesses move on-chain. The post passed 170K impressions.
A few hours later, NFT trader coinbilly published a post titled "I bought Invisible Friends," which drew about 86K impressions, and later thanked OpenSea for featuring the collection on its homepage. CoinGecko showed the Invisible Friends floor at 0.394 ETH, up about 131% in ETH terms over 24 hours.
The Moonbirds BIRB rally in numbers
The NFT itself barely moved compared with the token. CoinGecko had the Moonbirds floor at 0.43 ETH, about $1,052, up roughly 3% in ETH terms on the day. The 10,000-piece collection is one of the few 2022 blue chips still widely followed.
The token did the heavy lifting: +39.7% in 24 hours and +18.6% over seven days. Volume near $38M on an $18.7M market cap means the float changed hands about twice in a day. That is classic momentum trading, not slow accumulation. CoinGecko's 24-hour range ran from about $0.0465 to $0.0690, so anyone who bought near the top of the day was already underwater at snapshot time.
A 40% day on 2x turnover is a trader's market. It can reverse just as fast.
The supply picture matters too. With only 28.5% of BIRB circulating, the gap between market cap and fully diluted value is about $47M. Any scheduled unlocks will meet this new demand head-on, a pattern we covered in our Pengu October unlock piece.
Why NFT culture coins are moving
NFT brands with tokens give traders an easy way to bet on an "NFTs are back" thesis without buying a $1,000 jpeg. That is why PENGU, BIRB and similar coins tend to move faster than their floors. When a big voice like Ansem calls for a second look, the liquid token is where money lands first.
It also fits a broader rotation. Our meme markets volume tracker and the memecoin peak market caps study show how quickly attention rotates between sectors. NFTs have been the forgotten corner of crypto for two years, which makes them a fresh story.
No odds on this one
There is no live Polymarket market on BIRB, Moonbirds or NFT floors as of this writing, so there are no odds to quote.
What to do as a reader
Treat the Moonbirds BIRB rally as a sentiment trade. Check the official token contract before buying; CoinGecko lists BIRB's Solana mint as starting with G7vQWurM, and popular tickers attract copies. Look up the vesting schedule, because 715M tokens not yet circulating is a lot of potential supply.
If you are tempted by the NFTs themselves, remember that floors are thin and can be pushed around by a few buyers. Influencer posts are opinions, not research, and a single post can lift a market for a day without changing anything about the project. Size small, use limit orders, and do not borrow to chase a 40% candle. Nothing here is investment advice.
