Elon 2028 memecoin: A Super PAC With a Contract Address
The Elon 2028 memecoin comes from an FEC-registered Super PAC that says it wants Musk on the 2028 ballot, and its Solana token ripped about 900% in a day.
Early story. Some claims here are not officially confirmed yet. We update this post as it confirms.

- FEC records list Elon 2028 (ID C00963512) as an independent expenditure-only Super PAC registered October 13, 2026, with no affiliated organizations.
- Straight Arrow News found no sign Elon Musk is affiliated with, or even aware of, the committee, and the contacts in Ankeny, Iowa did not respond.
- The site says "Buy the token," but its own fine print says the token "does not fund the committee, and the committee does not back the token."

The Elon 2028 memecoin is the latest proof that anything with a ticker can become a trade, even a Super PAC. A committee called Elon 2028 registered with the Federal Election Commission on October 13, launched a site at elon2028.vote calling itself "the first tokenized super PAC," and pointed visitors to a Solana token, $ELON2028. After Straight Arrow News wrote it up on Monday, October 26, the token's main pool ran hard: DexScreener showed it up roughly 900% over 24 hours at 06:03 UTC (09:03 MSK) on Tuesday, with a market cap near $425,000.
What actually happened
The paperwork is real. The FEC's Form 1 lists Elon 2028 at an address in Ankeny, Iowa, with Michael Ellison named as both custodian of records and treasurer. The filing lists elon2028.vote as the official committee URL. The FEC page shows no financial data yet, which is normal for a committee this new.
The pitch is a two-step plan. Step one: amend the Constitution so naturalized citizens can run for president. Step two: elect Musk, who was born in Pretoria, South Africa. The site notes that an amendment needs two-thirds of Congress and three-quarters of the states. That is a very high bar, and no such amendment has been proposed in Congress as far as the coverage shows.
Straight Arrow News reported that the committee appeared the same day The New York Times ran a front-page story on Musk spending $366 million on the midterms. It also noted that Elon 2028 is one of nearly three dozen presidential committees filed with the FEC since August, most backing people with no national profile.
The token side of the Elon 2028 memecoin
The site lists one contract address on Solana: 8BnNS15Q6h6D5Vcq1sNPaUxhpRVdK8FGRbLvCrLxibSx, with a supply of 1 billion. DexScreener shows its main Raydium pool was created at 23:15 UTC on October 26 (02:15 MSK on October 27), so this is a fresh pool, not the older copycats.
At our 06:03 UTC check, that Raydium pool showed:
- Price near $0.000425 and market cap near $425,000
- About $5.08 million in 24-hour volume
- About $66,600 in liquidity
- Down roughly 27% over the prior hour after the run
Copycats are everywhere. CoinUFO's token page for an older pump.fun ELON2028 coin says 183 other tokens use the same ticker. On October 27, the sasa memecoin tracker also showed several new "Elon 2028" and "Musk 2028" pools on Solana and Robinhood Chain. Same name, different contracts, often no link to the committee at all.
A Super PAC with a contract address is either the future of political memes or the cleanest rug setup of the cycle. Probably both.
Why this one is weird even for crypto
Political memecoins are nothing new. We covered the Trump side of the meta in pieces like TRUMP 1 coin Solana surge and Trump October unlock. The twist here is that the issuer is a registered political committee that says buying the token does not fund it.
So what are holders buying? Not a donation. Not a share of anything. Just exposure to the meme, with the FEC filing as a credibility prop. Musk has not endorsed it, and there is no public sign he knows it exists.
There is also a legal gray zone around a Super PAC promoting a token it says it does not back. We are not lawyers, and nothing in the coverage says regulators are looking at it. But that kind of setup tends to attract attention once volume gets big.
What to do as a reader
If you want to trade the Elon 2028 memecoin, use only the contract address listed on elon2028.vote and confirm it on DexScreener. Anything else with the same ticker is likely a copycat.
Remember the fine print. The token does not fund the committee, so buying it is pure speculation, not political support. Liquidity was only about $66,600 at our check, so a single big sell can move the chart a lot.
Watch for a Musk reply. If he mocks it or disowns it, the meme can die in minutes. If he ignores it, it lives or dies on degen attention alone. Size tiny, and nothing here is investment advice.
