Doodles DOOD surge: 212% Pump on Upbit, Then a 21% Drop
The Doodles DOOD surge took the token up 212% on October 21 with no news, led by Upbit's DOOD/KRW pair. By 05:57 UTC Oct 22 it was down about 21% on the day.
Early story. Some claims here are not officially confirmed yet. We update this post as it confirms.

- Crypto Briefing reported a 212% jump on October 21 that took DOOD near $0.0046 and a market cap around $38 million, with no news from the Doodles team.
- Upbit was the epicenter: DOOD/KRW made up 10.33% of the exchange's roughly $997 million in 24-hour volume, about $103 million, per TokenPost.
- CoinGecko's 24-hour volume of about $234 million was more than 12 times DOOD's ~$18.3 million market cap at our snapshot.

The Doodles DOOD surge was one of the loudest charts of October 21: the Doodles ecosystem token roughly tripled in a day with no announcement behind it, then gave a big chunk back overnight. By 05:57 UTC on October 22, CoinGecko had DOOD at about $0.00235, down around 21% on the day but still up about 65% on the week.
What actually happened
Doodles started as a 10,000-piece NFT collection and later added DOOD, a token that launched on May 9, 2025, with a total supply of 10 billion. About 7.8 billion are circulating, and 30% of supply was airdropped to Doodles NFT holders. For most of this year it was a quiet chart.
Then October 21 happened. Crypto Briefing put the 24-hour gain at 212% and said the rally "came with no official news from the Doodles team." Reported volume hit roughly $213 million at that point, far more than the token's entire value. Doodles NFT floors rose about 6%, which is a polite bump next to a token that tripled.
The flow had a clear home. TokenPost reported that Upbit handled about $997 million in 24-hour volume in figures published October 21, up about 63.5% from the prior period, and that DOOD/KRW led all won pairs with a 10.33% share. That put a mid-cap NFT token ahead of XRP and Bitcoin on Korea's largest exchange for a day.
The Doodles DOOD surge in numbers
Here is the before and after, using the sources above and our CoinGecko pull at 05:57 UTC on October 22:
- Peak-day level per Crypto Briefing: about $0.0046, market cap near $38 million.
- Our snapshot: about $0.00235, market cap about $18.3 million, 24-hour change roughly -21%, 7-day change roughly +65%.
- All-time high per CoinGecko: about $0.0175, set in October 2025.
So the token is still well above where it started the week, but it has given back close to half of the Oct 21 level already. The Doodles DOOD surge also left the coin roughly 87% below its record. That gap is the honest context for anyone tempted to call this a comeback.
Volume many times market cap is not demand. It is the same coins changing hands very fast.
Why it moved, and why we do not know
No product launch, partnership or token update has been published to explain the move, and we are not going to invent one. Korean exchange pumps on mid-caps with thin order books are a familiar pattern: a coin starts trending on Upbit, local traders pile in, and price runs until the order book runs out. Crypto Briefing noted that depth on venues such as Gate was thin, which fits that picture.
The NFT angle may have helped the mood. This week's revival chatter around older collections, including the Moonbirds token we covered in our Moonbirds BIRB rally story, gave traders a narrative to point at. A narrative is not a catalyst, though, and the Doodles DOOD surge so far has none on record.
What to do as a reader
If you hold DOOD from the airdrop, this week is a reminder that the token can move far more than the NFTs it is tied to. A 6% floor bump next to a 212% token pump means token traders, not collectors, drove the day.
If you are thinking about chasing, look at three things first. One, where volume is coming from: if one exchange in one currency is most of the flow, that flow can stop just as fast. Two, depth: a coin with a market cap under $20 million and nine-figure daily volume is being churned, not accumulated. Three, distance from the top: our memecoin peak market caps explainer shows how rarely revived tokens get back to old highs.
This is not investment advice, and nobody should treat a day like this as a signal. If you trade it at all, size small, use limits, and decide your exit before you click buy. Ser, the Upbit candle does not care about your thesis.
