GTA VI trailer views are now a live Polymarket book, and at our ~06:02 UTC snapshot on October 18 traders priced the 60–80 million bracket for week one at 53% Yes, with 40–60 million close behind at about 44%. That is a bet on one YouTube counter, and the counter is moving fast.
What actually happened
Rockstar released the Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer on October 15 at 2pm UK time. It is the third trailer, about 90 seconds long, captured on a standard PS5, and it debuts "Flower in a Hurricane" from the game's score composers Justice with Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Mashable reported the video reached 20 million YouTube views within 16 hours.
The most granular public tracking we found comes from thegta6news.com, a fan site that reads the official YouTube page directly and timestamps each read. Its log shows 14.6 million views by about 10:31pm on October 15, 17.8 million at 12:55am on October 16, 25.5 million just under 25 hours after release, and 38.46 million at 2:56am UK time on October 18. That last number is our anchor.
The same site notes that fan trackers tally roughly 118–119 million views across X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube for day one, but Rockstar has not published an official cross-platform total. The Polymarket book is about the single YouTube upload, not that cross-platform figure.
What Polymarket thinks
The event asks how many views the Launch Trailer gets in week one. At ~06:02 UTC the 60–80 million bracket traded at 53% Yes (bid 52.8 / ask 53.3) and 40–60 million at 43.5%. Everything above 80 million was priced at roughly 2% or less. Total event volume sat near $198K, so this is a mid-size novelty market, not a whale pit.
Here is the simple math traders are running. If the roughly 360,000 views per hour pace from thegta6news held, the counter would add about 8.6 million per day. From 38.46 million around 61 hours in, that would clear 60 million before the week closes. But pace usually decays after launch week, so the 40–60 million side is a bet that the curve flattens faster.
GTA VI trailer views are a decay-curve bet. The question is not hype; it is how quickly hype slows down.
Read the market's resolution rules on the Polymarket event page before trusting any bracket. "Week 1" timing and the exact counter source decide everything when the number lands near 60 million.
Why this trailer is slower than Trailer 1
Trailer 1 in December 2023 hit more than 93 million YouTube views in its first 24 hours, according to YouTube's own blog, a record for a non-music video at the time. The Launch Trailer did about a quarter of that on YouTube in day one. The context matters: Trailer 1 was a YouTube exclusive after a decade of silence, while the Launch Trailer arrived on every platform at once, five weeks before release, after two earlier trailers.
The trailer also spun off its own degen side quest. The two-second "Dacity Coin" shot sent a Solana copycat flying, which we covered in Dacity Coin after the GTA 6 trailer, and the leaker angle shows up in our CYBERLEEK GTA offer piece.
What to do as a reader
If you trade or just follow GTA VI trailer views, anchor on timestamped reads of the official upload, not on fan cross-platform totals. Note the pace between two reads, assume it slows, and compare where that lands against the 60 million line. Re-check the bracket prices close to October 23; 53% versus 44% is close enough that a single slow day flips the favorite.
Do not mix the 118–119 million fan tally into a YouTube-only market. Nothing here is investment advice, and novelty markets can resolve on technicalities you did not expect.
