Early story. Some claims here are not officially confirmed yet. We update this post as it confirms.

ENA October unlock packs investor tranches into Oct 5
tl;dr
  • Bitrue's Sep 28 guide puts the final accelerated investor unlock around 1.406–1.41 billion ENA on Oct 5, about 14% of circulating supply on its cited math, after which investor vesting ends about 17 months early.
  • TokenPost, also Sep 28, says remaining investor allocations unlock in a single Oct 5 release and that the original schedule had been about 78.125 million ENA monthly through March 2028.
  • StablecoinX's roughly 3.03 billion ENA lock ends the same day on both desks, but Foundation consent, notice, and first-refusal rules still constrain sales.

ENA October unlock coverage centers on October 5, 2026, when remaining investor tranches are described as collapsing into one release — and both Bitrue and TokenPost stress that Ethena has not published a final exact count even as Tokenomist arithmetic circulates near 1.41 billion tokens.

What actually happened

Bitrue frames the date that matters after a routine September tranche. Its table lists an Oct 2 Foundation tranche of 40.625M ENA per Tokenomist's schedule, then Oct 5 events: the accelerated investor unlock near 1.406B, a team monthly tranche of 93.75M, and the StablecoinX lock-up end on about 3.03B held. Monthly team plus Foundation flow afterward is described as about 134.4M ENA combined into 2028. Bitrue is explicit that Ethena has not published the final unlock's exact size and that ~1.406B is Tokenomist's arithmetic on the published schedule assuming the September tranche released normally.

TokenPost covers the same Oct 5 acceleration, notes team and foundation allocations are excluded from the acceleration and keep monthly vesting, and repeats that the regular team allocation still releases on Oct 5. It places ENA near $0.28 on Sep 28 after a sharp run from mid-September prints on that desk, and it says Ethena plans to end token incentives tied to USDe growth by end of September after large historical reward distribution. TokenPost also covers the Sep 25 move into Binance tokenized U.S. stocks as collateral with hedging through stock perpetuals, USDe supply about $5.5B, and stock-perp open interest above $2.9B on that telling.

Bitrue adds that a fee-switch vote for routing protocol revenue into ENA buybacks passed Sep 2 but activates only when USDe supply reaches $7.5B, with USDe near $5.5B on Sep 28 in Bitrue's cite — so the buyback was approved but not running at that check. Those demand-side notes are context, not a price target. This article invents none.

StablecoinX is not free-float day one

Both desks say StablecoinX holds about 3.03B ENA, roughly 20% of supply. Lock-up ends Oct 5 under a waiver, but sales, transfers, loans, hedges, and pledges need Ethena Foundation consent; funding sales need at least five business days' notice; the Foundation can buy at the stated price; cleared sales must be orderly within windows TokenPost and Bitrue describe. Treat "20% hits the market on Tuesday" headlines as sloppy unless a filing shows a notice.

Bitrue also notes Ethena's August 27 calendar rewrite: buyouts of large sellers above a 0.25% allocation threshold who sold after the October 2025 peak, declined par buybacks from thirty large holders who never sold, folding the remaining investor schedule into October 5, and opening the fee-switch vote. ENA's near-doubling into late September on Bitrue's tape is framed as context for profit-taking risk, not as a target. Ecosystem tokens with unpublished release dates remain a separate overhang on Bitrue's arithmetic. When Ethena's chart and the dated vesting schedule disagree on how much stays locked after October 5, Bitrue prefers the dated schedule — and this desk follows that caution without inventing a reconciled percentage.

What to watch without forecasting

Bitrue's checklist is usable journalism: exact unlock size on Tokenomist or DefiLlama near the date, exchange inflows after Oct 5, USDe versus the $7.5B buyback trigger, StablecoinX filings for sale notices, and an expected Master Framework Agreement formalizing IP and economics transfer. None of those bullets is a call to trade. An ENA October unlock headline that invents a dollar impact or averages conflicting circulating-supply charts is doing the reader a disservice.

What to do as a reader

If you only need the headline, ENA October unlock points at Oct 5 with Tokenomist-style math near 1.41B investor tokens Ethena has not finally confirmed, ongoing team/foundation months, and a StablecoinX lock end that still needs Foundation consent to sell. Nothing here is a suggestion to buy or sell ENA. Not financial advice. DYOR, ser.
