Bitcoin October 23 odds on Polymarket put the most likely outcome in a tight band: above $82,000 but below $84,000 at noon New York time on Friday. At our snapshot at 06:08 UTC on October 22, the $82,000 line traded around 69% and the $84,000 line around 24%. CoinGecko had BTC near $82,700 at 05:59 UTC, almost flat on the day.
What actually happened
Bitcoin has been drifting rather than trending. The Block reported on October 21 that Bitcoin volatility is near its 2026 lows as traders wait for the Fed decision and the US midterms. A quiet market makes daily price lines like these interesting, because a few hundred dollars decides several of them.
At 05:59 UTC on October 22, CoinGecko showed BTC at about $82,712, up roughly 0.15% in 24 hours. Ether was near $2,435. For a longer view of where October has gone, see our Bitcoin October 16 odds recap and the $90,000 October odds piece from earlier in the month.
What Polymarket thinks
The daily event, "Bitcoin above ___ on October 23?", had about $249K in volume at our final pull. The key line, "Will the price of Bitcoin be above $82,000 on October 23?", traded at 0.685, with a 0.68 bid and a 0.69 ask, so about 69%.
The rest of the ladder, rounded:
- Above $78,000: about 98%.
- Above $80,000: about 93%.
- Above $84,000: about 24%.
- Above $86,000: about 4%.
- Above $88,000: about 1%.
- Above $90,000: under 1%.
Read together, that implies about a 45% chance BTC closes the resolution minute between $82,000 and $84,000. That is the crowd's favorite bucket.
The weekly "What price will Bitcoin hit October 19-25?" market adds context. Reaching $86,000 was priced near 17% and $88,000 near 6%. On the downside, a dip to $80,000 sat near 25% and a dip to $78,000 near 8%.

How to read Bitcoin October 23 odds
A 69% price on a level that BTC is sitting right above is not a strong bullish call. It just says the crowd expects little movement in the next 34 hours. The steep drop from 69% at $82,000 to 24% at $84,000 shows traders see a ceiling not far above the current price.
Volatility is the big variable. With volatility near the year's lows, small moves are expected. A surprise headline about the Fed, which we covered in our October Fed odds piece, or a big liquidation could break the range in either direction.
Remember the resolution details. This market looks only at the Binance BTC/USDT pair, using the close of the 1-minute candle at noon ET. Prices on Coinbase or in USD pairs can differ by tens of dollars, which matters near a line.
What could move it before 16:00 UTC Friday
US economic data, any Fed comment and large ETF flows are the usual suspects. Weekend-style thin liquidity does not apply here, since it is a weekday close, so moves should be orderly unless news hits. Watch the $82,000 level itself, because a lot of the market's money sits right there.
The Trump rally in Iowa on Thursday evening US time is another small wildcard. Polymarket gave only about a 3% chance that he mentions Bitcoin or crypto there, so traders do not expect it to matter. Still, any surprise policy line from the White House tends to show up in BTC within minutes.
What to do as a reader
If you trade daily lines, know your exact resolution minute in your own time zone. 16:00 UTC is 19:00 in Moscow and noon in New York. Do not hold a position you would hate to see settle on one candle.
If you just hold BTC, these markets are a mood check, not a forecast for next month. Bitcoin October 23 odds will be settled by Friday afternoon, so take the prices as a snapshot. Nothing here is investment advice.
