Polymarket October Fed odds lean hold, and the prints do not match
tl;dr
  • The page snapshot used here is 75% no change and 26% for a 25 bps increase. Do not average those with the API.
  • On Polymarket October Fed odds, in the same session the Gamma API printed 74.5% Yes on a no-change binary and 25.5% Yes on a 25 bps increase binary.
  • crypto.news and CoinGape, a day earlier, both cited 77% unchanged and 23% for an increase. CoinSpeaker's earlier card was 66% and 34%.

Polymarket October Fed odds, checked on the event page early 2 Oct 2026 MSK, had "No change" in front at 75%, with Buy Yes at 75¢. The event is titled "Fed Decision in October?" A 25 bps increase was next at 26%, Buy Yes 26¢. Cuts, and moves of 50 basis points or more, were under 1%, and that is a snapshot of an open card, not a decision the Fed has already printed.

What actually happened

The page to cite for this snapshot is the Polymarket event Fed Decision in October?. Volume on that page stood at $21,986,597. The end date on the event is 28 Oct 2026.

Those two facts tell you this was a thick market with time left on it when the page was opened early on 2 Oct 2026, Moscow time. They do not tell you how the October meeting will land.

The leading outcome on that page was "No change" at 75%, with a Buy Yes price of 75¢. The next outcome was "25 bps increase" at 26%, Buy Yes 26¢. Other listed directions, cuts and 50-plus basis-point moves, sat under 1%.

This recap uses 75% and 26% as the page snapshot. It does not nudge them so they add to 100 in a caption. Other outcomes exist on the card, and each of those other outcomes is under 1% in the pack. A reader can see why a two-bar chart would lie.

This item carries 5 confirmations and a hype-gas reading of 78. Five is strong sourcing for the existence of a live, heavily traded Fed card and for the officials quoted beside it. Hype gas at 78 matches a rates story that every timeline is already shouting about.

Shouting does not freeze the percent. The card has an end date of 28 Oct 2026, which means the number you copy today is a number that the same market can reprint before the meeting.

A Gamma API read in the same session is not a second day's newspaper. It is another print from the same sitting, and it does not match the page's round numbers. The API's no-change question is the binary "Will there be no change in Fed interest rates after the October 2026 meeting?" at 0.745, which is 74.5% Yes. The hike question is "Will the Fed increase interest rates by 25 bps after the October 2026 meeting?" at 0.255, which is 25.5% Yes.

The instruction on these figures is simple and strict. Do not average 75 and 74.5. Do not average 26 and 25.5. Say the page showed 75 and 26, and say the API printed 74.5 and 25.5 in that same session.

Why the gap exists is not explained in the pack. This piece will not smooth the two prints into a blended Yes.

The page snapshot stays 75% no change and 26% for a 25 bps increase. The API snapshot stays 74.5 and 25.5. Both can be true as observations of one session. Neither is a correction of the other in this text.

On Polymarket October Fed odds, the page is a multi-outcome event. The API lines cited here are binaries with their own question wording. That distinction matters when you repeat a percent.

"No change" at 75% on the event is not automatically the same object as a Yes on "Will there be no change in Fed interest rates after the October 2026 meeting?" even when the topic is the same meeting. Same session, related questions, different prints. Write it that way.

What Polymarket thinks

On the snapshot this piece is using, the crowd on that event page was paying 75¢ for Yes on no change and 26¢ for Yes on a 25 bps increase. Prices in cents, on this card, are sitting next to percents that match those two outcomes: 75 with 75¢, 26 with 26¢. Cuts and 50 bps-or-more moves were priced under 1%. The market, at that moment, was not putting meaningful weight on a cut or on a larger hike, as far as those under-1% tags go.

That is what the card thought early on 2 Oct 2026 MSK. It is not what the card thought on 1 Oct, and it is not what an earlier September path looked like. crypto.news, 1 Oct 2026 at 8:30 p.m. UTC, said the Polymarket figures it was citing were 77% unchanged and 23% for an increase, versus about 70% for a hike a week earlier.

CoinGape, writing up the same 77/23 pair, says that was "down from a high of 70% as of last week." Those two sentences are close and not photocopies. crypto.news attaches the about-70% figure to a hike a week earlier.

CoinGape's clause is "down from a high of 70% as of last week," set beside the 77/23. This recap will not merge the two "70" lines into one cleaned history.

CoinSpeaker is an earlier snapshot, not a rival to the 2 Oct page and not something to average with it. In that account, no change was at 66% and a 25 bp hike was at 34%. The same piece says that on 30 Sep, hold odds jumped 28 points in 24 hours to 58.5%, then moved to 66% after the PCE report.

The pack gives that path. It does not give the level from before the 28-point jump as its own number, so this article will not subtract its way to one. 58.5, then 66, is the sequence CoinSpeaker describes, with the jump landing on 58.5.

Lay the prints in time instead of in a blender. CoinSpeaker's path runs through 58.5% on the hold after a 28-point daily jump on 30 Sep, then 66% no change and 34% on a 25 bp hike after the PCE report. crypto.news and CoinGape, with crypto.news stamped 1 Oct 2026 at 8:30 p.m. UTC, cite 77% unchanged and 23% for an increase.

The event page early 2 Oct 2026 MSK shows 75% and 26%, while the API in that session shows 74.5% and 25.5%. Each of those is a dated print. None of them is the average of the others.

Volume of $21,986,597 says a lot of money had already gone through the event by the time of this page read. Volume is not a truth serum. A busy market can reprice, and the path from CoinSpeaker's 66% hold to the later 70s is itself a reprice happening inside a few days of coverage. Busy means expensive to ignore, not finished.

On Polymarket October Fed odds, the end date is 28 Oct 2026. Until that card resolves, every percent in this article is a historical quote of a quote. If you are reading this after the meeting, the page may say something final that this snapshot does not contain.

Do not backfill that future print. It is not in the pack.

What officials said beside the market

The market snapshot is not the only sentence from that week, and it is not a substitute for what named officials said. crypto.news carries a line from Jefferson:

My colleagues and I will need to come to our own judgment, which may take more time.

That is a patience line, as crypto.news framed the story. It is one person's statement about colleagues and judgment and time. It is not a vote count, and it is not the Polymarket percent. A reader can put "may take more time" next to a card that is pricing no change as the leader without pretending Jefferson published the 75.

Reuters, on 1 Oct 2026, quoted Dallas Fed's Lorie Logan on the target range. Her words, in the pack, are that it "needs to rise an additional 50 basis points or more." Reuters also says last month's hike took the range to 3.75%–4.00%.

Those are Reuters facts in this pack. They are not Polymarket facts. Logan is talking about an additional 50 basis points or more.

On the event page used here, moves of 50 basis points or more were under 1%. That is a live contrast, and it does not require you to declare a winner. An official can argue for a larger move while a market prices that outcome as a long shot. Both statements can sit on the same desk.

The range Reuters cites, 3.75% to 4.00%, is the range after last month's hike, on Reuters' telling. This pack does not add a dot plot, a full speech transcript, or the rest of the committee. Do not invent dissenters, and do not invent a date for the October meeting beyond the market's 28 Oct 2026 end date.

The end date is when that Polymarket event ends. It is not automatically a claim about the clock time of a Fed statement.

On Polymarket October Fed odds, CoinGape's piece is in the pack as another 77/23 cite with the "down from a high of 70% as of last week" line. CoinSpeaker is the earlier-path source. Reuters is the Logan source.

Use them for what they actually contain. Jefferson's quote lives in the crypto.news account cited above. Logan's quote lives in Reuters. Mixing the speakers is how a patience line and a 50-basis-point line get attributed to the wrong person.

What to do as a reader

Pick the print you mean before you repeat a percent. If you mean the event page opened early 2 Oct 2026 MSK, say 75% no change, Buy Yes 75¢, and 26% for a 25 bps increase, Buy Yes 26¢, with cuts and 50-plus moves under 1%. If you mean the Gamma API from that same session, say 74.5% and 25.5%, and name the binary questions.

If you mean 1 Oct coverage, say crypto.news and CoinGape cited 77 and 23. If you mean the earlier CoinSpeaker card, say 66 and 34, and mention the 30 Sep jump of 28 points to 58.5% and the later move to 66% after the PCE report.

Do not average 75 with 74.5. Do not average 75 with 77. Do not average 26 with 23 or with 25.5.

A blended Fed odds number is a number this market did not print. It will look smarter than the sources and it will be worse.

Read the contract shape. The event title is "Fed Decision in October?" The API questions are full yes-or-no sentences about no change and about a 25 bps increase after the October 2026 meeting.

Volume on the event page is $21,986,597. The end date is 28 Oct 2026. A cent price is a snapshot of what buyers were paying for Yes at that read. It is not a promise the meeting will match the favorite, and it is not a suggestion to trade the contract.

Put Logan and Jefferson in their own column, sourced. Jefferson, via crypto.news, said he and his colleagues would need to come to their own judgment, which may take more time. Logan, via Reuters on 1 Oct 2026, said the target range needs to rise an additional 50 basis points or more, and Reuters says last month's hike left the range at 3.75%–4.00%.

The page priced 50-plus basis-point moves under 1%. That gap is the story a reader can actually use. Officials are not the order book, and the order book is not an official.

This is not a rate call and not a trade instruction. Confirmation score 5 means the snapshots and the quotes are on the record across the page, the API note, and the outlets named here. Hype gas 78 means you will see the percents stripped of their timestamps.

Put the timestamps back. Early 2 Oct 2026 MSK for the 75/26 page. The same session for 74.5/25.5.

On Polymarket October Fed odds, put 1 Oct 2026 at 8:30 p.m. UTC on the crypto.news 77/23 cite, and 30 Sep on CoinSpeaker's 28-point jump. A percent without a clock is how this story gets mis-told.
