The aDOGymous memecoin is the newest privacy-themed pump on Solana, and it already shows the full life cycle in one night. The "Monero Dog" token launched on Pump.fun late Monday UTC, printed a market cap above $1.1M by early Tuesday per one listing bot, and sat around $472K at 05:55 UTC on October 20, per DexScreener. That is still +881% on the day, and about 60% below the earlier print.

What actually happened

The ticker is aDOGymous, the name is Monero Dog, and the pitch is pure lore. The project's X account says the mascot is a dog in a Guy Fawkes mask that appeared on an old Monero website next to an OTC warning: "Don't get scammed on the OTC marketplace. The Monero Foundation is not responsible for it." We could not independently confirm the original image, so treat the origin story as the project's claim.

The token graduated from the Pump.fun bonding curve into a PumpSwap pool just before midnight UTC. A listing bot recorded it at about $1.18M market cap at 02:57 UTC. The team also paid for a large DexScreener boost, which is why the chart sat high on trending lists through the Asian session.

The aDOGymous memecoin in numbers

At 05:55 UTC, the pool showed roughly 15,090 buys and 6,942 sells over 24 hours, almost all of it in the last six hours. About $944K of the $1.04M daily volume came in that window. Liquidity of about $59.7K is tiny: a sell of a few thousand dollars can move the price by double digits.

Here is the funny part. A memecoin named after a privacy coin trades on one of the most transparent chains in crypto. Every wallet, every buy and every dev sell is public on Solscan. If you want real privacy, the asset is XMR, not a dog in a mask on PumpSwap.

Monero hides your balance. This coin just hides the exit liquidity until you click sell.

The shill pattern

One promotional post about the token picked up tens of thousands of views on X within hours. Several of the reposts came from accounts that had just been created, a common sign of paid or automated engagement. That does not prove anything bad about the developers, but it does mean the "organic hype" is at least partly manufactured.

We have seen this setup before. Our ZEC-paired memecoins piece followed privacy-coin copycats that crashed when Zcash cooled off, and the Dogecoin golden cross story shows the opposite end: an old dog coin moving on slow technicals, not a midnight boost. Dog plus privacy plus a fresh pool is a fun narrative and a fragile trade.

How it connects to real Monero

XMR has been firm lately. CoinGecko showed it at about $604.79 at 06:00 UTC on October 20, up roughly 2% in a day and about 14% over seven days, still well below its January 2026 all-time high near $798. That steady climb gives tribute tokens a story to borrow. It does not give them any claim on Monero's network, team or community.

There is no official Monero memecoin. The Monero project does not issue tokens on Solana, and nothing in this launch is endorsed by Monero developers. The aDOGymous memecoin is an independent Pump.fun launch using Monero's branding as a meme.

What to do as a reader

If you are looking at the aDOGymous memecoin, verify the contract on DexScreener before you touch it. The real mint ends in "pump"; copycat tickers appear within minutes of any viral launch. Check the one-hour column, not just the 24-hour headline, and look at liquidity before you size anything.

Treat boosted trending spots and viral shill posts as marketing, because they are. A token that dropped about 60% from its listing print in three hours can do it again. This is an extremely high-risk bet, nothing here is investment advice, and you should only use money you are fully prepared to lose.
