37th BNB burn: 1.65M BNB, ~$1.2B Sent to the Blackhole
37th BNB burn: the BNB Foundation sent 1,646,196.44 BNB (~$1.197B) to 0x...dEaD on October 19, leaving 131,512,085 BNB in supply on the way to a 100M target.

- Burned: 1,646,196.44 BNB, about $1,197,344,519.40 by the Foundation's estimate, which implies a price near $727 per BNB at the time.
- Remaining supply: 131,512,085 BNB; the Auto-Burn program keeps going until total supply reaches 100,000,000.
- BNB traded at about $729 at 06:00 UTC on October 20, per CoinGecko, up roughly 0.3% on the day: no burn pump, just business as usual.

The 37th BNB burn is done, and it is another billion-dollar bonfire. The BNB Foundation said on October 19 that it sent 1,646,196.44 BNB, worth roughly $1.197B at the time, to the blackhole address on BNB Smart Chain. That leaves 131,512,085 BNB in total supply, as of 10:05 UTC on October 19, still on the road to a 100M target.
What actually happened
Every quarter, BNB Chain runs an Auto-Burn that removes BNB from supply forever. The 37th BNB burn followed the same script as recent rounds. The coins went to the address 0x000000000000000000000000000000000000dEaD on BNB Smart Chain, which nobody controls, so they can never move again.
The Foundation's post also flagged a technical detail. Because the Lorentz and Maxwell upgrades made BSC produce blocks faster, the parameters in the Auto-Burn formula were adjusted "to keep the idea and spirit consistent." That matters because the formula uses both BNB's price and the number of blocks produced during the quarter. Without the tweak, faster blocks alone would have changed the burn size.
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao celebrated the burn on X and asked which other chains do something similar at this scale. Fair question, honestly.
How the Auto-Burn works
The formula is public and, per the Foundation, independent of the Binance exchange. In simple terms, the higher the BNB price, the fewer coins get burned for the same value, and the more blocks the chain produces, the more gets burned. The point is predictability: anyone can check the inputs and the result.
There is a second, separate burn. Under BEP-95, a portion of the gas fees in every BSC block is burned in real time, with the ratio set by validator governance. So supply falls continuously with network use, and then in a bigger chunk every quarter.
Other chains: "We have tokenomics." BNB: sends a billion dollars to 0xdEaD every three months.
Is this bullish?
Supply reduction sounds great, but the price usually does not care much on the day. The burn is scheduled, the formula is public and the size is roughly predictable, so markets price it in ahead of time. The quiet 0.3% move on Tuesday morning fits that pattern.
Over the long run, a shrinking supply supports value only if demand holds up. That depends on whether people keep using BNB Chain for trading, memecoin launches, stablecoins and DeFi. The 37th BNB burn is roughly 1.25% of the supply left, which is meaningful, but it is not a guarantee of anything.
For comparison, our coverage of the Cronos CRO burn and the Sanctum SANC burn shows how other projects use burns. Those were one-off decisions. BNB's is a mechanical, recurring program, which makes it easier to verify and harder to hype.
What is left to burn
With 131,512,085 BNB remaining and a 100M goal, about 31.5M BNB still has to go. At a pace similar to this quarter, that is many years of burns, and the exact number per quarter will move with price and block production. The Foundation links to real-time data so you can track it.
Rough math: if every quarter matched this one at about 1.65M BNB, the remaining 31.5M would take around 19 more quarters, or close to five years. Real burns will differ, because the formula reacts to price and block counts, so treat that as a back-of-the-envelope figure, not a schedule.
What to do as a reader
If you hold BNB, you do not need to do anything; burns happen automatically and do not affect your wallet balance. Ignore anyone offering "burn rewards" or asking you to send BNB to take part, since no such program exists.
If you want to verify, check the blackhole address on BscScan and the Foundation's announcement, then compare the figures. Use the 37th BNB burn as a data point about supply, not as a trading signal. Nothing here is investment advice.
